Flower Cabinet - The New Craftsmen
In the spring of 2021 I was approached by The New Craftsmen to develop a range of furniture based on my original flower cabinet. This modified version of the cabinet was constructed in American black Walnut and fitted out with adjustable shelves and a pair of drawers. The inlaid flowers have Oak and Maple petals with Ebony centers and were inspired by the Rudbekia (Black Eyed Susan) growing in my garden. The flower range included this cabinet, table and mirror.

Freelance and Subcontract
While running a small business I have often found the need to take on both freelance design and subcontract making projects. As time has passed, I have tried to move away from make only projects for third party designers preferring to engage my services throughout the whole process which I find more fulfilling.
Working in Australia
In 2006 I migrated to South Australia where I began working for Khai Liew, one of Australia's leading furniture designers. I was employed as his creative assistant to production engineer designs, make models and prototypes, produce sales drawings and liaise with furniture makers across Adelaide to manufacture his work.

Fitted Furniture
Starting out and looking for work, I teamed up with then property developers Hellier Peach who provided a healthy supply of predominantly fitted furniture projects. Though I have tried to move away from fitted work, it was these commissions that formed the foundation of my making journey.
Student Projects
I studied furniture and product design at Kingston University 92 - 95 and graduated from The Royal College of Art with an MA in furniture design 1997.
